Actor's List

A fun questionnaire: This picture is of me as Emily in a production of "Our Town" when Roger and I lived in New Jersey. Let's see I was 27 years old when this was taken and Chester was only a year and a half old. It was a very popular production with the public and got good reviews, the following year this picture made the cover of the New Jersey Theater brochure. One of the only times I would be a "cover girl".

Here we go... LAST SHOW ADDED TO YOUR RESUME: Les Miserables

LAST SHOW YOU AUDITIONED FOR? The Sound of Music and Les Miserables (Summer Stock) DID YOU GET IT? Yes

LAST SONG/MONOLOGUE YOU USED AT AN AUDITION: songs: I Have Confidence and Someone Else's Story monlogue: Play- The End of Day by Jon R. Baitz character - Rosamund Brackett "Is that a Stubbs?..."

FAVORITE MUSICAL(s): Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, The Fantasticks

FAVORITE ROLE YOU'VE PLAYED, AND FROM WHAT SHOW? Lucy/Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd

FAVORITE ROLE OVERALL THAT I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY: Fanny Brice in Funny Girl

SUPERSTITION: I don't really have any, maybe the Break a Leg thing but even then...whatev...

YOUR GOAL IN SHOW BUSINESS: Always give 100%, be on time and be kind, generous and gracious to ALL involved.

FAVORITE DIRECTOR YOU HAVE EVER WORKED WITH: Kevin Doyle and Varlo Davenport

WHAT WAS YOUR VERY FIRST SHOW? Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A DANCE SOLO? Yes, my favorite (sarcastically) was when I had to do a ballet dance in The Tempest on an almost 45 degree angled platform wearing butterfly wings that weighed about forty pounds, "Be graceful Tamari! Be graceful!"

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A SINGING SOLO? Yes

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN THE LAST PERSON TO TAKE A BOW? Yes

HAVE YOU BEEN TO NEW YORK? one of my favorite places!

HAVE YOU BEEN TO LA? one of my least favorite places...

WHAT'S THE SCARIEST PART OF AN AUDITION? the waiting...but once I get in there I usually audition well.

WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF AN AUDITION? When they seem interested and have you sing or read more and start joking around with you. That is usually a good sign, even if they can't use you for the current show they will probably use you in the future.

NAME A SHOW YOU WOULD NEVER DO AGAIN: Strider, not because of the cast, crew or director, I just didn't care for the show.

NAME A SHOW YOU COULD DO FOR YEARS: Les Miserables

WHAT ARE YOU AUDITIONING FOR NEXT? I am taking the year off to focus on family and house renovations, but plan to audition for one or two shows next year. In the mean time I am singing/taking vocal lessons (from Brodie Perry) and I will start doing firesides for the Youth of my church in the Spring and would love to do a concert at the Tabernacle and a Cabaret Night.

DO YOU KEEP IN TOUCH WITH PAST CAST MEMBERS? yes, thanks to the wonder of Facebook and MySpace!

ON A SCALE OF 1-10, HOW IMPORTANT IS GETTING PAID? that is hard to rate, I don't HAVE to do theater for a living so I can pick and choose whatever projects come my way. It is nice to get paid, but it is not crucial for me. so, I will say a 4?

SOMETHING EMBARRASSING OR UNEXPECTED THAT HAPPENED TO YOU WHILE ON STAGE? Once when I was in And A Nightingale Sang...my mind went completely blank during a scene, I seriously couldn't remember who I was or where I was...Fortunately I was on stage with Linda Mugleston and she saw the look of blank terror in my eyes and covered until I came back to earth. Pretty scary...I think that was the same show I got the hiccups on stage, also a terrifying experience...I made it work, it was an emotional scene so I made the hiccups part of my crying.

WHO IS THE MOST DIFFICULT PERSON (ON STAGE OR OFF) THAT YOU HAVE EVER WORKED WITH? Roger Dunbar, the man is such a divo!...just kidding (wouldn't it be divo for a man instead of diva? always wondered that...) I like to think I deal with people well so even if I come across those 'difficult people' I take it in stride and try not to let it affect me. I will say that I worked as a dresser for a lady in a one woman show and after that experience I will ALWAYS treat crew members with the utmost respect, she was so rude and demeaning to me. I cried almost every night after the show. I hope I never treat anyone the way she treated me.

WHAT IS YOUR ONSTAGE PET PEEVE? Practical Jokes or Inside Jokes or people who are bored and decide to change the dialogue, blocking or business. I am all for being 'in the moment' and trying new things as long as it does not cause anyone to break character and it is loyal to the integrity of the show.

WHAT IS YOUR BACKSTAGE PET PEEVE? Lack of focus. I think you can joke around and have a good time, but there needs to be a limit and a respect for the crew, actors, props, costumes, animals, equipment...basically just keep within your boundaries and be conscientious of all that is going on around you. When people lose sight of that I usually have to say something...

EVER BEEN NAKED ONSTAGE? WOULD YOU??? No, and No.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN KILLED? Yes, strangled, shot and had my throat slit...not all in one show

BEEN DRUNK? On Stage, yes.

PLAYED SOMEONE HALF YOUR AGE? Yes

PLAYED SOMEONE TWICE YOUR AGE? Yes

CRIED? Yes

FIRED A GUN? Not on stage, but I have handled guns onstage and threatened people with them.

BEEN DRENCHED? I got pretty sweaty in Seven Brides and at Tuacahn working outdoors in Les Miz and SofM it would get purty hot and sweaty, but never drenched with water...that I can remember...

BEEN IN A DREAM SEQUENCE? I don't think I have...

BEEN KISSED? Yes
