A Christmas Story Filming Day

We filmed the dream sequences in the play yesterday. The first was 'Ralphie saving his class mates from the swamps'. (not in the film, just the play version)
We arrived at Kent and Garry's at 8am and got Max dressed in costume. He has his jacket over it because it was a chilly morning. Please notice those gorgeous red mountains in the background. We live in one of the most beautiful places on earth! The kids were all very excited. What a neat opportunity for young kids to be in a play and to top it off, get to make fun little films!
We got done with the first film about 2 hours ahead of schedule! Kent (our director) had the schedule all made out and next on the list was a film that included Roger and Ivy...BUT Ivy and Roger were at Ivy's last soccer game, (during which she scored her first GOAL!!!) and could not come until after 12:30pm like the schedule had said. SO, I offered to do my grading paper scene in which I am so taken by Ralphie's theme about the Red Ryder BB Gun that I give him an A +++++++++++......We were able to film that sequence and the one where I am the Wicked Witch of the West with Ralphie's mom and we are chanting, "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!" Roger and Ivy arrived and we shot the 'Ralphie saves his family from Black Bart' sequence and then I took the kids home and Roger stayed for the 'Blind Ralphie "soap poisoning" dream.
It was a fun day! More pictures to come! (and hopefully down the road the film clips will be posted) The picture above is Ralphie and Ralph, as Red Ryder, during another dream sequence that is exclusive to the play. Just for fun, check out our website with the cast bios!
